Save Darfur!
Or "Save Tibet" Are you Tibetan, Buddhist, or did you just go to college and realize there is a little more to the world than your conservative parents led you to believe?
"If you don't stand for something you will fall for anything." -(I have no idea who said this first)
Why do I have to stand for anything? I'm not a gullible person, but I am not a follower either. If I had to pick one thing to stand for it would be intelligence. I can find elements of truth in just about anything, its called thinking.
"You are either for us or against us"
The zealots and extremists are the ones who draw the lines. They live inside their own social constructs, they do nothing but rehash their ideology.
That is standing for something, you won't fall. But you will die an idiot.

Brave New World
Another Batch
Arrogance leads to disappointment.
You do not learn when you are afraid.
In Europe the sheep killed all the wolves.
We are the accumulation of generations of fear and mysticism.
There is no sickness that compares to continual vindication.
People tend to add parameters to their thinking, only they don't realize that they are no longer thinking.
Yesterday is not tomorrow, tomorrow is today. -I apparently said this while sleeping
Nothing is that never was.
Narcissistic people don't commit suicide, they may however think that they can fly.
I have found that people who don't like to read are dumb.
The mind is like a muscle, if you don't use it it begins to atrophy.
The brain solidifies at age fourteen, so if you didn't have it generally figured out by then... Good luck!
Most people who complain about a thing, are not very good at the thing.
Mental: A known bad is preferable to the unknown.
On the seventh day God rested. Imagine you are God, I would be thinking arrogant little bastards.
I've considered being a hippie, but I don't like hair.
From the Jewish perspective Jesus was a failed messiah, even if you factor in the resurrection thing hes still kind of late.

Angry Freewrite
People who think don't act, people who act don't think, what could be worse? There are signs of its presence everywhere I turn my head. There are festering signs of its presence in every direction. People turning fact into fiction, fiction into fact, all to get a better view of themselves. People hate, fear, and blacklist the truth. Believing in theories, succumbing to morals, trusting in faith, taking things for granted, choose your fantasy. Life is for the living, if you prefer fantasy you should kill yourself.
I don't want to spend much time refuting stupid people. It doesn't really serve any purpose other than to pat myself on the back. These people are not likely to understand much less even consider changing. I am of the opinion that you either know or you don't. These words are for those in the know, namely myself. Granted, there is a minority of people who can understand, who have the potential to change, however they are not sufficiently large enough to warrant my attention. I write with the aim of refinement, articulation, and the mere expression of my personal ideas. I'm not making a case, not taking a stance, I'm merely letting others see a portion of my thoughts, so I can improve upon it and the rest.
In one very distinct way I am thankful for the high prevalence of stupidity among people. When people are faced with the muck and mire of existence there are two paths which they may proceed to traverse, neither one of which is ambivalence. Dualism is an interesting concept. People have preferences, they are either more of one or more of the other. It is as arbitrary as it is useful. We need labels to think, the clause concerning accuracy is to be able to change the definitions and be objective when warranted. If you understand a pair of polar opposites, that is about as close as you can get to a holistic viewpoint of the issue. There are opposites of opposites however. Each camp has probably created an alternate truth to be congruent with their sentiments. They aren't malignant people, they are far worse. They are just simply there, and not much else.

Clubbing

Try and think of an environment where people could go where all their social anxiety, flaws, and insecurities would be mitigated? What would it be?
It would have to be dark, most people are ugly. And about half of them are fugly. You don't want to see that, unless of course you just half to look.
It would have to be loud. You don't want the added pressure of having to talk, most people have a hard enough time looking intelligent let alone carrying on an intelligent conversation. Why give them the option? when they are just going to fuck it up.
And since that isn't enough for most of you fucktards, lets throw in alcohol to seal the deal. But we aren't just going to sell it to you, we are going to sell it for 4 times the given price. And you will buy it. Lower your inhibitions, induce a false sense of freedom.
All this because you need to get away, from your job, your kids, your relationships, your fucking life. Oh, and did I mention sex? You could get lucky and pass your neuroses down to the next generation. Talk about a fail safe for the propagation of the species!

Idea Stew
I have a big problem with psychiatric drugs for the most part. ADD and ADHD are not neurological disorders, they are learned behaviors. The more you repeat an action or thought, the larger the neural pathways in your brain become. Its bad parenting and bad schooling, put them in a suitable environment and they will not have a problem.
As the Internet becomes more and more ingrained in our lives it poses new problems, of which we have currently only scratched the surface. Currently with a small amount of money and effort you can get personal information on just about anyone. Online resellers report purchases to organizations and governments. What is coming is even worse. Wired house where nearly everything can be controlled from afar. Including cameras and audio. I love technology but there are some things that society is just not ready for yet.
Our entire economy is based on faith. We don't have currency based on anything but faith. The things we spend the most money on are worthless in a few years. Technology, vehicles, even our expensive homes are boxes made out of plywood. There are even rumours of getting rid of paper and coin currency all together. Everything would be plastic, easier to track you that way. And collect aggregate marketing information.
We as a society should stop rewarding stupidity. I'm tired of being politically correct, tired of even hearing and wasting my time on the garbage. I find family values and the endemic unobtrusiveness of this society to be sickening. Not only is it based on a false premise, it is bland, tasteless and boring. That's what I find offensive, holding the truth at bay because someone will whine is offensive. We should also start putting all the people who suck at everything they do back in the circus. Gladiators would be cool too. We are just as bad as any other government in history, we just don't talk about it when we don't lie.
I think every form of art should be free, and at a decent quality. Movies, music and other art. It basically is now if you know where to look, but greed is trying combat it. You can still make money because some people will still buy it. Plus even if someone tries it at the decent quality and loves it. They will go out and spend the money to get the uber quality with the extra features and the artwork. Artists could even accept donations and people would gladly give it to them because they wouldn't be sucking on the corporate cock.
The concepts of patents and copyrights are becoming antiquated in the light of technology. There should be no period of exclusivity, when an innovation happens everyone should have to right to use it for a modest and fair royalty.
Politics is the art of manipulation. Which is why I don't argue over who is better than another. Its not based on merit, or ideas. It is telling everybody what they want to hear, and doing it better than the other guy Iwould say gal too but its Hillary we are talking about.
Law keeps the idiots at bay, other than that it doesn't do much but annoy.
The older a government gets the more autocratic it becomes. In the case of modern republics, the locus of control slowly shifts from the many to the few.
The concept of one size fits all sucks. We need multiple everything, its healthy. Multiple Gods are good, then everyone can be righteous. Nah I'm not evil dude, Dionysus yo!

Sheeple and the Power of Suggestion

...sounds like a kids book. (More on Sheeple)
I've been sick for basically the past week, namely influenza to be specific. Anyway it basically sucked and I coughed a lot which brings me to my point. Have you ever coughed on a bus? Crowded room? Basically anywhere there is people? If you have, I'd bet money someone coughed after you, typically more than one. Lets not wake Ayn Rand up just yet, there's more!
When I was over in a market in Kosovo, my Sergeant came up with an idea. The plan was, he was going to say something in English (not the native language there) and point to this tree for no reason whatsoever and the rest of us in the team would act interested and look up there as well. In no time at all we had a small crowd carrying on a lively conversation about something that originated in a nothing. And I'm not talking about a cursory glance, some were still looking up when we left.
There have also been studies to confirm that it is easier to run if you are following someone else. There is also the apprehension to go first or stand out in a crowd, whether it is volunteering for a presentation first or helping someone who is injured when there is a crowd. Which if you don't know, the larger the crowd the less likely someone will help.
And lets not forget the innocuous yawn. Which I have heard is actually an instinctual survival mechanism. In other words some part of you sees someone else yawn, and just in case there isn't much oxygen left you suck some down yourself. I've always known people were basically selfish, or at least they think they are.
There is safety in numbers. The mob mentality feeds off itself, giving compound interest all along the way. And if there is negative consequences, chances are we can watch our neighbor eat it and run.
